For those living in the Twin Cities, the free alt weekly newspaper City Pages is a staple of many street corners, bringing the latest (and sometimes controversial) local and culture news. Having recently departed an alt-weekly conglomerate, they were in need of a unique digital platform complement the print component.

The challenge was to take the free, eclectic feel of the paper and translate that aesthetic to the digital experience of the paper. Providing for large visual splashes (mirroring the iconic cover style) and setting up a balanced type set, created a framework that elevated the unique voice of City Pages putting it center stage.
